Whew! This one was a FUN one to do. I took one of my favorite George Perez Avengers covers (#181), and recreated it using the Justice League of America (up to the Detroit version with Vibe, Gypsy, Vixen, Steel, etc).
I tried to match the most appropriate JLA'er to each Avenger - either in powers or importance, character-wise, although some were matched just to make a good fit compositionally. Here is the original Avengers cover for reference. Roll Call! Avenger to JLA'er map ---------------------------------------- Clockwise starting from top left: Vision - Red Tornado (also in corner box!) Hercules - Hawkman Wasp - Hawkwoman Yellowjacket - Atom Black Widow - Black Canary Hawkeye - Green Arrow Ms. Marvel - Wonder Woman Charlie 27 - Elongated Man Thor - Aquaman Beast - Martian Manhunter Captain America - Superman Iron Man - Green Lantern Wonder Man - Firestorm Quicksilver - Flash Moondragon - Sargon the Sorceror Black Panther - Batman Captain Marvel - Phantom Stranger Jocasta - Gypsy Nikki - Vixen Martinex - Commander Steel Yondu - Vibe Henry Peter Gyrich - Amanda Waller Scarlet Witch - Zatanna Whew! This cover really lent itself to almost a straight swap of characters! I'm thinking of trying to sell the original for this, but part of me would feel sad to lose it, as I really dig it. The original Avengers 181 cover was by George Perez, this one is most definitely an homage for fun, not a full-on swipe, honest!  *edit* larger version added for download. |
